Kilaguni

Cincinnati  |  2012

Concept:
Kilaguni is an orphaned elephant living in Nairobi, Kenya, found by locals after wandering across the African plains. To honor this courageous animal, volunteers banded together to form a sanctuary that would be home to and rehabilitate injured and/or orphaned elephants.

Logo Execution:
This simple logotype includes letter forms with soft edges and a silhouette of an elephant head that could be used as a logo-mark in other applications. It was important for the logo to feel welcoming and approachable due to the nature and intention of the organization.

Application:
A silk-screened poster advertises an event held at the Cincinnati Zoo about African Elephant awareness. The decision to produce silk screened posters (rather than a digital print) was made to feature the ink’s texture and call back to the individuality found in each resident of the sanctuary.
