Clifton Mill

Cincinnati  |  2012

Built in 1802, Clifton Mill is a historic, water-powered, grist mill in Clifton, OH. Highlights around the Clifton Mill site include an authentic covered wooden bridge, the 1940’s Gas Station Museum, and the Little Miami River.

After learning the intricacies of a traditional large format (4”x 5”) camera, I designed, printed, and assembled an interactive book; all of the images were photographed, developed the film, and developed prints in the dark room by myself. While creating the layout, emphasis was placed on the sequence and details the viewer would experience while wandering through the site. On the cover, the doors of the old barn open to welcome the viewer into Clifton Mill’s rich history.

The book can be viewed flat, as a traditional page turner, or stand up and display the photos with an accordion style fold.
